Privacy notice
Effective 18 October 2026
This notice explains what personal data India Solar collects through india-solar.com, why, who else handles it and what your rights are.
Who we are
India Solar is a sole proprietorship of Pradeep Kumar, based in Jaipur, Rajasthan 302026, India. We decide how your data is used. Contact for privacy questions and complaints: Pradeep Kumar, pradeep@india-solar.com.
What we collect
- Enquiries: your name, email, organisation, country, investor type, amount and plant size of interest, your message, and the IP address the form was sent from.
- Investor accounts: name, email, organisation, country, investor type, a scrambled (hashed) password and the secret for your authenticator app.
- Verification (KYC): your investor-status declaration with the time and IP address, and the identity, company, tax and bank documents you upload.
- Deal records: the confidentiality agreements you accept for each plant (time, IP address and browser), and a log of which plant pages and documents you open or download.
- Chat: your name, email, phone number and the messages you send through live chat.
- Visitor statistics: see below; these do not identify you.
Why we use it
- To reply to your enquiry and decide whether we can work with you.
- To provide our services under the agreement you sign with us, and to take the steps you ask for before signing it.
- To meet legal obligations, including anti-money-laundering checks and India's foreign-investment and tax rules.
- To keep confidential plant information secure and to know who accessed it, which is in our and the sellers' legitimate interest.
- To understand which pages are useful, using the statistics described below.
We do not sell personal data and we do not use it for advertising.
Visitor statistics
We count visits to public pages with our own statistics, not a third-party service. We use no cookies for this and store no IP addresses: a visitor is counted with a code that changes every day and cannot be traced back to you. We record the page, the referring website, the browser's time zone (to estimate the country) and screen size. If your browser sends Do Not Track, we don't count your visit.
Cookies
If you log in, we set a session cookie to keep you logged in, and a "remember me" cookie if you choose it. We use no advertising or analytics cookies of our own. The live chat widget sets its own cookies (see below).
Live chat
Live chat is provided by tawk.to. Its chat bubble loads on our public pages (not in the investor area) once the page has finished loading. tawk.to sets cookies to recognise your browser and keep your conversation, may record basic visit details such as the page you are on, and receives the messages and details you type, under its privacy policy. You can block these cookies in your browser; the rest of the site works without them.
Who else handles your data
- Fly.io hosts the website and stores uploaded documents, on servers in Singapore.
- Supabase hosts our database.
- Brevo sends our emails, such as login and password-reset links.
- tawk.to runs live chat on our public pages.
- With your agreement, the sellers, lawyers, chartered accountants and engineers working on a deal you are pursuing.
- Authorities and banks where the law requires it.
These providers may process data outside your country, including in India, Singapore, the European Union and the United States, under their own security and data protection terms.
How long we keep it
- Enquiries that don't lead to an engagement: up to two years after our last contact.
- Verification documents and deal records: for as long as the law requires after our relationship ends; in India this is at least five years for anti-money-laundering records.
- Visitor statistics: up to 13 months.
How we protect it
Connections are encrypted. The investor area needs a password and a code from an authenticator app. Documents are stored privately and sent only to people with access, and every view and download is logged.
Your rights
You can ask to see the personal data we hold about you, to correct it, or to delete it where we are not required to keep it. You can withdraw consent you have given. Write to pradeep@india-solar.com; we reply within 30 days.
If you are not satisfied with our answer, you can complain to the Data Protection Board of India or, if you are in the European Union or the United Kingdom, to your local data protection authority.
Changes
We will post any changes on this page with a new effective date. If a change matters for investors with accounts, we will also tell them by email.
